Year Founded

1961

University of Warwick was founded by Sir Jack Butterworth and Chancellors of the University of Leicester Sir Charles Morris.

1965

The university opened its doors to the first 450 undergraduates with the departments of Mathematics, Chemistry, and Economics.

1979

The Warwick Arts Centre was opened by Her Majesty The Queen which has become the largest venue of its kind in the UK outside London.

2000

The Warwick Manufacturing Group was opened which has become a leading research center in the UK.
